Weekend Special Healthy and Quick Recipes

To those who work, they find cooking tiresome after working all day. This is the scenario even if they are working from home these days due to pandemic. But taking pandemics into consideration, we can’t deny the need of nutritious food for the wellbeing of our health. So, guys, today, let’s learn a quick and highly nutritious recipe. Which health and tasty both at the same time! 

So today, we are learning the recipe of Dal Palak Soup, super easy to make. Let’s talk a bit about nourishment from this recipe. Dal is a good source of proteins, fiber, vitamin B, manganese, and good quality carbs. Lovely green palak has proteins, fibers, iron, magnesium, potassium, folate, and vitamin A. The lemon juice in garnish will provide you with lots of vitamin C, calcium, iron, and vitamin B-6. Check the ingredients below and if you don’t have them available, get them soon.

Dal Palak Soup

Cook: 30 mins

Total: Forty mins

Servings: Four servings

Ingredients

Three/four cup moong daal

Three/four cup toor, tuvar, or arhar daal

Half teaspoon floor turmeric

One (1-inch) piece ginger, grated

Half pound coarsely chopped spinach

Salt, to taste

Three tablespoons ghee

One teaspoon cumin seeds

One small  chilli

Six cloves garlic, finely chopped

Pinch asafetida

Four wedges lime, or lemon

Four teaspoons cream, whisked until Little thickened.

Steps to Make It

Wash the moong dal and toor dal very well below Freshwater. Soak the daal in sufficient Hot water, then keep it aside for 20 minutes.

Put the dal in a deep pan and put water— see to that it is two-finger digits above the dal. Boil this combination over medium Flame.

Add the turmeric and grated ginger and stir. Cook till the dal is tender to mash. Add more hot water as you cook, if required, to maintain the consistency just like that of a thick soup.

When the dal is cooked, Put the spinach, season with salt to taste, stir—lower the Flame.

In another small pan,  put the ghee and wait till it’s far melted and put the cumin seeds. Fry the ghee and seeds till they have crackled well, after which put the chilli, chopped garlic, and asafetida.

Fry everything till the garlic turns faded golden in color. Carefully put this ghee-spice combination (referred to as tadka in Hindi) to the cooked, simmering dal. It will sizzle and can splash, so be careful.

Add this mixture to the dal spinach mixture and stir well. 

Mix the soup by hand or use a food processor to blend the mixture well until it has a smooth, soup-like consistency. 

 Pour soup into large cups or bowls. Garnish with a splash of lime or lemon and a teaspoon of cream, and serve the soup with nice soup sticks.
